Drinking gin with Haruki: How to find the romance in the everyday
Haruki Murakami, world-renowned author and cocktail-loving 'bar master'.
His novels feature whiskey, beer, wine, and other alcoholic beverages, and the bar scenes in particular are as detailed as a movie, with his characters always discussing their daily philosophies over a special drink.
Haruki has experience running his own jazz bar in Tokyo, and his bar, called Peter Cat, was the inspiration for many scenes in the novel.
In Haruki's work, "sake" is not just a drink, but a ritual that creates a rhythm of life, a companion to solitude and contemplation.
